About Kurt Funfsinn

Kurt Funfsinn is a self taught singer/songwriter who grew up in Peru, Illinois. In late high school, he picked up a guitar for the first time. He found playing guitar brought him happiness and a sense of calm. After college, life began, and music took a backseat for a while.

In 2012, he decided it was time to grow, so he dusted off his guitar. He played furiously from his heart in his garage as he experimented with harmonica and songwriting. At this point, he realized he was ready to expand his audience beyond himself and went to his first open mic. After overcoming his initial nerves, getting feedback from other musicians proved to be a vital lifeline he would need to move forward. He realized he had a story to tell and music was the way to do it. As his music evolved, so did his family. In 2014, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin where he currently lives with his wife and two sons. He has played at the Tip Top Tavern in Madison and Fisher King Winery in Mt. Horeb. He continues to write original music and is planning to release recordings in 2016.
